“My Firebase Growth team was lucky to get Ben as our Associate Product Manager intern for the summer of 2017. Ben is a self-starter. He is resourceful, technically capable, and and a very reliable team member. He came up to speed in record time and quickly developed strong working relationships with the team. Ben got to experience and contribute to all stages of product management from ideation, OKR setting, usability testing, writing product requirement docs, bug triaging, all the way to launching quite a few well thought-out changes to our Dynamics Links product. His contributions to the team, the product, and our developer community were valuable and his presence and energy will certainly be missed. ”

“I was Ben’s internship host at Google for the summer of 2016. During his internship, Ben worked on two projects: a starter project adding hotel prices to the Google Maps Android app, and a main project displaying global tips for hotels (such as “Sign in to save up to $99 at 13 hotels” or “28% of hotels have availability for these dates. Book soon or select other dates.”) on desktop Maps. Ben successfully finished both projects, which are expected to be seen by millions of users worldwide by Q4 2016, after analysis and experiments complete. Technologies Ben used include Java, JavaScript, protocol buffers, HTML, CSS, Android, and the Dagger dependency injector. Out of all of the interns I have seen at Google in the past three years, Ben may have acclimated the best to Google’s end-to-end development process. He rapidly learned the technology stacks needed for his projects and committed a large number of well-organized changelists. Ben was an outstanding communicator, working closely with several full-time Googlers and other interns across different teams and locations, and showed considerable initiative and independence in planning out his projects and resolving obstacles. Ben has consistently demonstrated a dedication to developing quality software. His first commit was a large-scale refactoring that had been requested for almost a year, and all of his changes have included thorough unit tests. In addition to the primary project’s functionality, Ben implemented A/B testing, internationalization, counterfactual logging, and experiment setup. Ben was able to create features that are both helpful for users and have potential revenue impact, and has made it easy for other team members to add additional tips in the future. Personally, I have greatly enjoyed working with Ben and witnessing his enthusiasm and velocity. I am confident that Ben would be a valuable member of your team, program, or organization.
